CU staff presents check to Human Society of North Texas

Fort Worth-based Tarrant County’s Credit Union donated $1,594 to the Humane Society of North Texas in January.

Throughout the year, money is collected through TCCU’s Charity Is Good savings account program. This program gives members the opportunity to give back “rounded-up dollar amounts” from purchases made using their TCCU debit MasterCard. Additional funds were collected through over-the-counter donations and fundraisers.

The Humane Society of North Texas is the largest and longest standing nonprofit animal rescue and adoption organization in North Texas. This is the third consecutive year that TCCU has selected the Humane Society as the recipient of these funds.

“The Humane Society of North Texas depends on the support of our community to carry out our life-saving mission,” said Peggy Brown, Human Society of North Texas community outreach coordinator. "It is because of support from community partners lite the Tarrant County’s Credit Union that we are able to improve the lives of thousands of animals and people who love them each year. We would like to thank the Tarrant County’s Credit Union for their ongoing support of our work."

TCCU Business Development Coordinator Melissa Burleson works hard to build relationships with worthy community organizations. TCCU’s goal is to be a strong financial institution and a valued and respected community partner.

“We’re so thankful that our members support the Charity is Good Program," Burleson said. "The Charity is Good Program, introduced in 2015, continues to provide a convenient way for members to give assistance to those in need in our community. It has been a pleasure giving to the Humane Society of North Texas."

Tarrant County’s Credit Union is happy to announce that Alliance for Children will be the recipient of funds raised with the Charity Is Good Program in 2018. Throughout the year, TCCU coordinates with other organizations and credit unions on projects and initiatives, seeking to be a positive change in the lives of those that are being served.
