Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013 (FARMERS BRANCH, Texas) – Maurillio Gardea could have opened an account anywhere, but he chose Southwest 66 CU, one of the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s (Cornerstone) newest Juntos Avanzamos credit unions.
“I joined because I was new to credit and wanted to do it right,” says Gardea. “The loan officers took the time to help me build a path that I could follow to better my credit. In just six months I saw my score increase by 25 points. I feel like family and enjoy doing business with Southwest 66.”
The “Juntos Avanzamos” or “Together We Advance” designation is awarded by Cornerstone to credit unions that have successfully completed a rigorous application process that confirms they have the capacity, commitment, and compassion to serve the financial needs of Hispanic families. Cornerstone officials will present Southwest 66 CU with a Juntos Avanzamos flag Oct. 24.
