On Aug. 20, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie headlined a high-profile fundraising event for Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin’s re-election campaign at the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma's Credit Union House. Christie is the chairman of the Republican Governor's Association and a possible presidential contender.
Gov. Fallin has previously spoken at our Government Affairs Conference, and she has been very supportive of credit unions. This exclusive event in Fallin's honor drew almost 200 of Oklahoma's most influential people—major donors of up to $5,000, the max in Oklahoma—and dignitaries from Washington, DC.
Credit Union Association of Oklahoma President Nate Webb said, “It was a real honor to host an event of this stature at our Credit Union House, and it speaks to the success of our increased focus on advocacy and political engagement. We raised our profile significantly and received rave reviews for not only our excellent facilities but for the preparation and assistance our Oklahoma staff provided.”
