Southwest 66 Credit Union (Odessa) recently joined with the local Univision television station to host “El dia del Niño,” a community event focused on children’s health. More than 1,000 kids were given the opportunity for a free health check-up, along with vision and dental screenings, general nutritional information, substance abuse prevention information and child identification kits. They also enjoyed bounce houses, food and door prizes at the carnival-like gathering.
Southwest 66 CU provided a dozen volunteers to serve popcorn and 700 snow cones, while promoting a free credit health check-up.
“We want our community to know how important it is to take care of their financial health and that we can help them in their own language,” says Aaron Chavez, director of marketing for Southwest 66. “We look forward to hosting other events to help our community.”
