Out with the old and in with the new…PrimeWay FCU on Monday opened the doors to its new Bagby Street branch. The new branch replaces the credit union’s Main Street branch. Unlike the more traditionally designed branch, Keith Huckabay, public relations specialist with the Houston-based credit union, says the Bagby Street branch is filled with cutting edge technology and innovation.
“We see this relocation as a great move for PrimeWay. The new branch is designed to allow our members to bank more conveniently, continue to receive great service from our friendly team and enable PrimeWay to build even stronger relationships with our members,” said Annette Zimmerman, president & CEO of the credit union.
According to Huckabay, the traditional teller line has been replaced by teller “pods,” allowing members to perform the same transactions using less space. The credit union believes the modern and fresh design will allow for a more personal relationship its membership.
“The branch has only been open for a couple of days, and so far the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” says Huckabay.
The traditional teller line, credit union officials said, can sometime be a barrier between staff and members; whereas the teller pods are less formal, and allow for greater interaction. The MSR stations are also more relaxed and personable – allowing for more engagement between members and staff.
The new branch is located in the heart of a vibrant, hip and trendy neighborhood, Huckabay says.
“When selecting a financial service provider, residents in this neighborhood are technologically savvy and expect the type of amenities this branch offers,” adds Huckabay.
The credit union has several housewarming events planned to be introduced to the neighborhood, including charitable events with the Houston SPCA, business functions and sponsoring The Midtown Chamber’s “Art in the Park.
PrimeWay FCU has posted a video tour of the new branch on YouTube.
With assets of $415 million, PrimeWay FCU has nine branches that serve over 50,000 members.
