This Home Equity Lending Basics & Advanced Seminar is a program for Texas state and federal credit unions with established Texas Home Equity Lending programs. Among other things, Duke will cover rules for permissible lending against member homestead under the Texas Constitution and statutes including:
Step-by-step analysis of the extensive Texas Constitutional Amendment containing the legal requirements for a Texas home equity loan.
Rules for curing errors in existing home equity loans.
Rules, guidelines, and suggestions for Texas Home Equity lending policies and procedures established by NCUA and the Texas Credit Union Department.
The Basics Seminar on day one sets the stage for the following day’s presentation on upcoming Dodd-Frank regulatory requirements. Lindquist will help credit unions figure out which rules they may be exempt from and what regulatory changes will affect their credit union the most.
