Is the Safety Net Strong Enough for the Human Cannonball of Changing Demographics? That is a question Steve Murdock, Ph.D., demographer will address at the Texas Credit Union League’s (TCUL) Volunteers’ Forum June 19-21, at the Hilton Palacio del Rio in San Antonio.
Murdock joins an impressive list of presenters at this year’s conference geared toward credit union volunteers, including board of directors, supervisory & audit committees, and other committee members. While the event is a Volunteers’ Forum, CEOs, CFOs and members of a credit union’s management team may also take advantage of the program.
Among other things, Murdock will examine the recent and projected future population change impacting Texas and surrounding states. These include differentials in patterns of growth across these states, the aging of the population and the changing racial/ethnic composition of the population. Additionally, he will cover the effects of such demographic change on income, poverty and investments. Other factors impacting the financial status of the tri-state area will also examined, as will the implications of such patterns for the long term future of the state.
Online registrations are now being accepted and credit unions will find more information online, at https://www.tcul.coop/Volunteers_Forum.html.
