Credit unions have made great strides in recent years to stand out not only to potential members, but also to legislators. That said, it’s important to stay politically engaged.
Jim Phelps of the Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) will present “Political Advocacy – How to Get Engaged” during the 2013 Compliance, Audit & Human Resources Conference in Austin.
During this session, Phelps will talk about the importance of political engagement and what steps credit unions can take to become more politically engaged, as well as the need for credit unions to continue promoting the “credit union difference” and highlight the distinction between credit unions and banks. Finally, Phelps will discuss why it’s critical to educate members about the credit union tax exemption.
The theme for this year’s Compliance, Audit & Human Resources Conference is navigating the System. The three-day conference, taking place June 19-21, is designed to empower attendees with the tools and information needed to broaden their knowledge, develop their unique skill sets and expand their professional network.
