Rep. Joaquin Castro will address a credit union audience of more than 500 next week at the Texas Credit Union League’s (TCUL) Texas Governmental Affairs Conference & Member Meeting and Expo on April 2-5 in Austin.
Rep. Castro, a long-time credit union member, served five terms in the state legislature before being elected to the U.S. Congress in 2012, representing District 20. TCUL President and CEO Dick Ensweiler says having Rep. Castro address credit union executives and volunteers in our state capital is a tremendous honor.
“Representative Castro is considered by many to be a rising star of the Democratic Party, and we are delighted that he is taking time out of his busy schedule to share his perspectives and insights at this very important gathering of credit union leaders,” said Ensweiler.
TCUL’s Texas Governmental Affairs Conference & Member Meeting and Expo features a business meeting, an exhibit hall, and networking opportunities, as well as an abundance of educational sessions that explore key issues impacting the financial marketplace. Attendees will also have the opportunity meet with elected officials at the capitol.
“The sheer volume of credit union leaders who attend this conference each year illustrates the level of cooperativeness that exists between credit unions,” added Ensweiler. “In the end, it is the members who benefit most from this collaborative sharing of ideas and resources.”
The League has been able to continue its tradition of offering a superior program that includes dynamic speakers and informative breakout sessions, in part, because of the support of its sponsors. This year’s sponsors include CUNA Mutual Group, Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union, Pulse, CO-OP Financial Services, Credit Union Resources, Inc., and the Texas Credit Union Foundation.
