Texas Laws on Carrying Knives

HB 1935 by Rep. John Frullo (R-District 84) became effective Sept. 1, 2017. The law amended the Texas Penal Code as it relates to the punishment for certain weapons offenses involving a knife.

Fallin Calls Special Session

As expected, Gov. Mary Fallin has indicated she will call state lawmakers back to the Oklahoma Capitol for a special legislative session. While the session has not formally been called, the governor has indicated it will convene Sept. 25. Lawmakers will need to adjust the state budget shortfall of $215 million, which was caused by an unconstitutional revenue measure passed during this year’s session.
