Cornerstone Explores Potential Financial Support for Litigation Efforts

Regarding the recent uptick in ADA website compliance litigation, Cornerstone President/CEO Caroline Willard has directed staff to evaluate credit union candidates to determine if one or more may be a good test case to push through a lawsuit in various districts in hopes of obtaining multiple favorable rulings. Our best candidates will likely be small credit unions with a limited field of membership.

Arkansas Fiscal Session Begins Today

The Arkansas General Assembly Fiscal Session will begin at noon today, Feb. 12. Under Arkansas law, the Fiscal Session can only last 30 days but can be extended to 45 days with a three-fourths super-majority vote. This will be 5th Fiscal Session since the passage of Amendment 86 to the Arkansas Constitution of November 2008.

Housing Sentiment at New High on Higher Home Price Expectations

The Fannie Mae Home Purchase Sentiment Index (HPSI) rose 3.7 points in January to 89.5, reversing the decrease seen last month and reaching a new all-time survey high. The HPSI is up 6.8 points compared with the same time last year. The increase can be attributed to increases in five of the six HPSI components.
