Credit unions remain in a holding pattern waiting on the Department of Justice to issue website regulations under Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Demand letters are on the rise; therefore, waiting for official regulation is no longer an option.

Buddy Gill Becomes CUNA's Newest Engagement Consultant

CUNA has announced the hiring of Buddy Gill as the newest member of its engagement team, effective Dec. 7. Based out of Austin, Gill will serve as an engagement consultant throughout Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas, working with the Cornerstone Credit Union League and the Credit Union Association of New Mexico.

True Sky Credit Union is partnering with the C.A.R.T. House, a nonprofit organization and child advocacy center in Canadian County, to celebrate the holidays. Every branch of the credit union is accepting donations of small to medium-sized stuffed animals through Dec. 15. With the donations, the C.A.R.T House will give a stuffed animal to each child that comes to the center. 

Embattled Director Cordray to Step Down from CFPB

Richard Cordray announced Wednesday that he will resign as director of the CFPB by the end of November, a move that will allow President Trump to nominate a new director who would have to be confirmed by the Senate. A nominee of then-President Barack Obama, Cordray clashed frequently with representatives of financial institutions.
