Cornerstone League

Young Professional Chapter Delegate

The Cornerstone Young Professional (YP) Delegate is a credit union employee or volunteer at a League member credit union that is at least 18 years of age and no more than 40 years of age by Dec. 31 prior to the Cornerstone League Annual Meeting of the ensuing year. One YP Delegate will be chosen per chapter on a biennial basis.

The role of the Cornerstone YP Chapter Delegate is intended to bring more young professionals in local credit unions together around three goals:

  • drive positive change for the future
  • break down barriers to collaboration
  • bring new perspective to the credit union system

The recommendation of the YP Chapter Delegate can be made in any of the following ways:

  • The chapter can provide Cornerstone the name and contact information of their appointed YP Chapter Delegate, or
  • The individual interested in serving as an YP Chapter Delegate should nominate himself or herself by contacting Cornerstone and notifying their respective chapter board.

The role of the YP Chapter Delegate will be an active one. The YP Chapter Delegate will coordinate activities in his or her local chapter area throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Actively recruit additional young professional representatives from other credit unions within their local chapter
  • Collaborate with the advisors and local young professionals to host a minimum of four local events for area young professionals
  • Provide an update on young professional activities at all local chapter events
  • Contribute to the blog/forum on the young professional's website
  • Assist in the coordination of advocacy activity in the local chapter, including candidate appearances, local district office visits, and response to calls to action and regulatory comments

Each chapter will be responsible for its YP Chapter Delegate’s expenses in connection with any event or meeting attendance.
