Courtney Moran, I-CUDE, CCUFC
Courtney Moran joined the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation in 2004, assuming the role of Executive Director in 2009. Her current focus is to provide leadership and strategic direction based on the goals, philosophy, and mission of the Foundation. Her previous work in the financial services industry includes areas ranging from operations to marketing.
As part of the Foundation FOCUS financial education initiative, Courtney conducts the FOCUS "Train the Trainer" sessions throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas and oversees the overall program, which encourages and promotes financial education initiatives among credit unions, educators and partner organizations. Moran also oversees the Foundation's grants and scholarships programs as well as daily operations.
Moran earned her Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) status in 2009 and her International CUDE designation in 2013, a Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from the Center for Nonprofit Management and Southern Methodist University in December 2011, and became a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor through CUNA’s FiCEP program in 2012. She serves as a Director on the National Credit Union Foundation board, a member of the Advisory Council and Outreach committee for BizKid$, and serves as an advisory board member of the University of Texas at Arlington’s Financial Literacy and Personal Finance Center.
Courtney was recognized as the National Youth Involvement Board’s “Volunteer of the Year” in August 2006. She also received the Chairman’s Award for her work as the Chairman of the Texas Jump$tart Coalition, presented by the Dallas/Fort Worth chapter of the Financial Planning Association in October 2006. In January 2007, the Cornerstone Credit Union League named Moran the 2006 “Manager of the Year” and most recently, chosen as a Credit Union Rock Star by Credit Union Magazine.
Lily Newfarmer, CUDE, I-CUDE
Lily currently serves as President and CEO of Tarrant County’s Credit Union, a community based credit union in Fort Worth, Texas, and has served in the Credit union movement for over 26 years.
She graduated from the University of Madrid, Spain in 1995 with a B.A. Degree in Business/Finance and obtained her Credit Union Development Educator designation in 2008.
A 1999 graduate of Southwest CUNA Management School (SCMS), Lily has been part of the SCMS Faculty Team for over sixteen years. She is an Ex-Officio of Southwest CUNA Management School Alumni Association (SCMSAA) and served as liaison between SCMS and SCMSAA. In 2008, Lily was selected SCMSAA Alumnus of the Year.
Lily served as a Board Trustee with the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation for 17 years where she served in many capacities including Chairman. She is currently serving as the CUDE Advisory Trustee. She also serves on Filene’s Research Council, CUNA Mutual Group’s Select CU Council, Credit Union Resources Impact Group, Credit Union Resources Finance Review Committee, and is currently a Director for the Cornerstone Credit Union League. Lily was named the 2017 Credit Union Professional of the Year by the Cornerstone Credit Union League.
