The credit union environment is changing quickly and it has credit unions relying more seriously than ever on the governance abilities of their board of the directors and volunteers. Many credit unions are requiring continuing education for their volunteers. The 2015 Directors Symposium, scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2015 is your credit union's answer to finding educational opportunities for both new and seasoned volunteers.
This symposium provides volunteers with an opportunity to meet NCUA’s Board Financial Literacy requirement and earn their CUNA Board Financial Literacy Certificate by offering the six modules required to obtain the certificate prior to the start of the Leadership Conference & Expo.
If you have already taken and passed any of these modules, you will only be required to attend and test on the ones you are still missing. To check which modules you’ve already taken and passed, contact Cookie Dorsey at firstname.lastname@example.org for your records. This program is designed to create a simplified approach to some rather complex subjects and will provide you with a convenient, practical way to earn your CUNA Board Financial Literacy certificate.
At an early bird fee of $299 per attendee (separate from the Leadership Conference registration fee), all volunteers can take advantage of this great deal including a discount of almost 50% off the original price. The program fee includes the six modules listed below, a complete review of the modules, and a code for one-time testing at your leisure plus lunch and refreshment breaks. After June 30, 2015, the fee will be $349 per person (late and on site goes up to $399).
The modules required to earn your CUNA Board Financial Literacy Certificate are:
Volunteers who take advantage of these sessions at Cornerstone’s Director’s Symposium will have the opportunity to test online at a later date, and at their convenience, to earn their certificate.
