TTCU Federal Credit Union in Tulsa, Okla., recently presented an $8,000 check to the Owasso Education Foundation. The donation comes as part of TTCU’s School Pride program.

Credit union members select from among more than 60 School Pride designs honoring area schools, and every time they use their debit card, the organization makes a financial donation to the school.

“TTCU believes in giving back in each and every community that our branches serve,” said CEO and President Tim Lyons. “As a credit union founded by teachers, we understand the value of education. When we support educators and students, we’re supporting the future.”

The $8,000 donation will go toward funding an additional four to six grants for Owasso teachers this year.

“It’s fantastic to have such support and generosity from a local business,” said Matt Inouye, a contact for OEF. “The (funds) they have donated are amazing and have helped so many kids in Owasso with the grants the money funds.”

Since 2007, TTCU’s School Pride program has distributed over $1.2 million to area schools. More than $106,000 has been donated to Owasso Public Schools thus far.
