The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team powered by Shell Federal Credit Union in Deer Park, Texas, completed its 10th annual Supplies for Students Fundraiser benefiting schools in nearby districts, such as Deer Park, Pasadena, Pearland, La Porte, Galena Park, Clear Creek, Humble, and Klein.
The FCU Team raised a record-breaking $3,041.38 with the help of the Shell FCU members, employees, and the community. Fundraising efforts included a branch-wide bake sale, cake auction, employee raffle, and Shell FCU member donations. School supply donations were also collected at all Shell FCU branches.
All funds raised go toward purchasing school supplies for the upcoming school year. The schools receiving supplies partnered with the FCU Team back in April to collect canned food items for the “Everyone’s Gotta Eat” food drive benefitting nearby food banks and shelters.
“A special thank you to Member Auto Center, one of our most valued partners, for their kind donation to Supplies for Students,” said Traci Gianukos, vice president of marketing, Shell Federal Credit Union. “We would also like to thank Angie Gallo with Awesome Advertising for her generous donation of school supplies, including pens, pencils, folders, and notebooks. We greatly appreciate their support during this fundraiser.”

Since 2008, the FCU Team has raised more than $105,000 and donated more than 9,500 hours. The FCU Team has partnered with organizations, including the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center, Pasadena Animal Shelter, Today’s Harbor for Children, Habitat for Humanity, and many more.
