On July 14, the Southwest CUNA Management School Class of 2020, the Visionaries, sponsored a community-service event for this year’s class participants. This cookie social featured networking opportunities, outdoor games, and a friendly kick-ball tournament, all with the goal of supporting nearby Cook Children’s Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Class of 2020 Events Committee, chaired by Tiffany Brown, Wichita Falls Teachers Federal Credit Union, and Angela Adams, Tinker Federal Credit Union, worked with hospital administration to identify needs in preparation for this event, including infant care items, children’s toys, and family support items. Upon delivery, hospital staff estimated the donation value ranging from $5,000 to $6,000.
“I am grateful to SCMS for providing the opportunity for our class to make a difference in the local community,” said Adams. “We were overwhelmed by the support and participation of our classmates.”
