Shell FCU kicks off ‘Supplies for Students’ fundraiser

Posted: Jul 15, 2019 | Author: Shell FCU

The Furthering Community Unity (FCU) Team, powered by Shell Federal Credit Union kicked, off its 10th annual “Supplies for Students” fundraiser to help elementary schools in surrounding districts by purchasing supplies for the upcoming school year. This year, schools receiving supplies partnered with the FCU Team in April to collect canned food items for the “Everyone’s Gotta Eat” food drive, benefitting nearby food banks and shelters.

Last year’s campaign, with the help of the community, members, and volunteers raised $2,400, given as $300 gift cards to elementary schools to purchase supplies. The FCU Team plans on surpassing last year’s total and is accepting cash donations as well as school supply donations at all Shell FCU branches throughout July.

Schools receiving supplies:

  • San Jacinto Elementary
  • Mae Smythe Elementary
  • Rizzuto Elementary
  • Laura Bush Elementary
  • Landolt Elementary
  • North Shore Elementary
  • Lakeland Elementary
  • Mueller Elementary

The FCU Team was created to provide volunteer opportunities in our communities and to teach the value of social responsibility in a fun team setting. To learn more about the FCU Team, visit www.govolunteertoday.org or contact Ashley Gebhardt at ashley.gebhardt@shellfcu.org.
