Raise awareness of elder abuse on June 15

Posted: Jun 13, 2019 | Author:

Every year on June 15, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day is commemorated in America and around the world. The purpose of WEAAD is to raise awareness of the cultural, social, economic, and demographic processes affecting elder abuse and neglect. WEAAD helps educate individuals, organizations, and communities on how to identify, address, and prevent abuse, so we can all do our part to support everyone as they age.

Ideas for hosting a WEAAD event

Visit the WEAAD Tools and Tips webpage for customizable WEAAD materials or view the WEAAD Art Gallery for inspiring art work. The staff is also available via a live chat feature to answer any questions you may have.

Share your event with others

If your team already has something planned for WEAAD, be sure to log your event on the WEAAD World Map. The organization hopes to have the support of every state across the nation as it continues to build strong support for our elders.
