Five-step executive search results in best-fit candidates

Our five-phase search process includes an initial engagement, a strategic planning meeting, a candidate assessment and identification, an executive interview toolkit, and the candidate selection. Our expert team will help you:

  • Qualify and quantify an executive’s credentials, knowledge, and leadership capabilities; and

In the initial engagement, the Executive Search team prepares the letter of engagement, delivers engagement summary tools, and completes a profile survey.

During the strategic planning meeting, our expert staff starts with a credit union overview, including a discussion on your organization’s current financial and market position, management philosophies, strengths, and weaknesses along with a review of strategic direction and growth scenarios. Next, our specialists help your credit union develop a blueprint of the ideal candidate. This process identifies core leadership competencies, technical skills, and profiles. Expectations and responsibilities of the incoming executive are reviewed, and a framework is established for the search and the compensation. At the end of this phase, the interviewing, selection process, and structure are finalized. 

The next step – the candidate assessment and identification – begins with the development of a search strategy, which includes press releases, search announcements, cold calling and networking, internet advertising, informal networking, and internet-based recruiting. From there, Executive Search staff take the credit union through the candidate qualification process, demonstrating scenarios for resume analyses, personal interviews, technical interviews, and video conferences. Candidate recommendations follow, helping short-list the top candidates by reviewing candidate resumes, digital introductions, and compensation.

An executive interview toolkit is compiled and delivered in the fourth phase. This toolkit contains resumes, strategic summaries, a compensation package, personality profiles/behavioral assessments, and a structured interviewing format. In addition, it provides background information verification, criminal and civil histories, education and employment validations, evidence of bondability, and reference checks.

The process concludes with the candidate selection, interviews, and candidate evaluations. The final candidate is selected; negotiations begin; and the transition is executed.
