Professional of the Year Award goes to Sabrina Waner

On presenting the award, Cornerstone’s Past Chairman Kenny Harrington, president/CEO of MemberSource Credit Union, described Waner as "a tireless advocate for her credit union and members--a thoughtful, present, involved, and charitable leader.” He added, “she’s been an undeniable component of the overall success of Allegiance CU and quite deserving of this year’s Professional of the Year Award."

She joined Allegiance Credit Union in 1998 as vice president and CFO. During her time at Allegiance CU, she has also been responsible for operations and lending, mortgages, business lending, and collections. In addition, she has served as the credit union’s Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Security Officer, and Compliance Officer.

Our winner has served on a number of committees in the financial services industry, including President of the Boomer Sooner Chapter of Credit Unions, President of the Oklahoma Credit Union Executive Society, Chairman of the Oklahoma Credit Union League Audit Committee, and Chairman of the Oklahoma Foundation Board.

Along with her involvement with various committees and organizations, Warner is a 25-year member of CUNA’s CFO council and a member of the Credit Union Executives Society.

Our professional of the year gives her time and resources to assist in the effort to make life better for disadvantaged children and their families. In addition, she spent a large portion of 2017 spearheading the transition of her credit union’s retiring president and CEO by planning events that helped celebrate and highlight this executive’s service to the credit union and the community.
