TTCU to help members impacted by government shutdown

Posted: Jan 14, 2019 | Author:

With an estimated 800,000 workers nationwide missing their first paycheck last Friday, many Oklahomans will be scrambling to figure out how to pay bills this next week, and TTCU Federal Credit Union has plans to help.

“We’ve already had a number of members calling for assistance,” said President/CEO Tim Lyons. “Our heart goes out to our members who, through no fault of their own, are facing financial challenges due to the government shutdown. As a credit union, we always put our members first, so we decided we had to help. It’s the credit union way.”

Members are encouraged to call TTCU’s Member Relations department to discuss the options that may be available to them.

“Before you miss that mortgage payment or struggle to get money for the electric bill or groceries, please give us a call,” Lyons said. “We want our members to know that they may have options besides high-interest quick fixes that may end up harming their financial future and their credit.”

Lyons also wants to remind members of the skip-a-pay option that is offered to members with loans at TTCU. More details, including information on who qualifies, can be found online or by phone. Reach out to TTCU’s Member Relations department at 918-749-8828 or toll free 800-234-8828 or email memberrelations@ttcu.com. Specialists are available by phone 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
