UFCU names new EVP – member experience

University Federal Credit Union, Austin’s largest locally owned financial institution, has named Michael Crowl as executive vice president of member experience. In this newly created role, he will lead UFCU teams in executing on the organization’s overarching mission to connect in meaningful ways with members, simplify how members interact with UFCU, and empower them to achieve financial health. He will provide executive level oversight of all lending, retail operations, insurance services, wealth management, digital banking, and payments functions.

He always begins by assessing what’s best for members and collaborating to develop solutions that benefit them. As a strategic visionary, Michael is ideally suited to lead and fully leverage our unique purpose as a positive agent of change for members, employer groups, and the communities we serve.”

In his 13 years with UFCU, Crowl has played a crucial role in the credit union’s organizational and financial leadership. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of planning and execution and chief financial officer. Earlier this year, the Austin Business Journal named him "Best CFO of 2018" in the nonprofit business category. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA, both from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. In addition, he is a certified public accountant and holds a credit union development education certification through the National Credit Union Foundation.
