DuGood FCU celebrates Nederland branch grand opening with weeklong festivities

by Cornerstone Credit Union League | Nov 07, 2019

DuGood Federal Credit Union is branching out with a new location opening in Nederland, Texas, at 2708 Nederland Ave.

The new branch officially opened its doors to members and the community Monday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attendees were invited to join DuGood’s staff and board of directors for refreshments and the raising of the flag by the Southeast Texas Veteran’s Service Organization, accompanied by the sounds of the Nederland Bulldogs Marching Band.

DuGood FCU Ribbon Cutting
DuGood CEO Jada Kelley and Board Member Leo Begnaud cut the ribbon to begin the branch’s grand-opening festivities.

“We’re excited to offer this new, more convenient location to our members,” said DuGood CEO Jada Kelley. “Our credit union was founded in Nederland in 1962. This community is very special to us, and we’re just thrilled to have found a spot right in the heart of the city.”

In celebration, the credit union planned fun events throughout the week, including an appreciation day for military and first responders, chances to win a $500 Thanksgiving dinner, a $1,500 grand prize, and a Mid-County Madness Tailgate Party.

The new branch will be DuGood’s 11th location in southeast Texas, and it will offer full services, safe deposit boxes, and a 24-hour ATM.

DuGood FCU Flag Raising
Members of Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group raised the American and Texas flags during DuGood FCU’s ribbon-cutting ceremony.

New mortgage center
DuGood’s Twin City Highway location will remain open as its new mortgage center, serving members and the community with a full range of mortgage and home equity loan products. Teller services will be only available in the drive-thru.

About DuGood Federal Credit Union
The DuGood Federal Credit Union was originally chartered in 1962 by a group of plant workers under the name DuPont Beaumont Works Employee Federal Credit Union. As the credit union continued its work in the community, it became known as "DuGood Credit Union." The name was a natural fit because giving back was and still is at the heart of everything the credit union does. In 2014, the board officially changed the name.
