Cornerstone Credit Union League has an immediate opening for an Executive Director – Texas Credit Union Association. This position is based in Austin, Texas and oversees the state and federal lobbying efforts for the Texas Credit Union Association, a division of the Cornerstone Credit Union League. Duties encompass, but are not limited to, managing relationships with state legislators and members of Congress; representing the association at the Texas Credit Union Department; managing the Texas state and federal contract lobbyists; analyzing and researching legislation and regulatory issues impacting Texas credit unions; pursuing board-approved legislative priorities; and managing the Legislative & Regulatory Director.
A bachelor’s degree in finance, government, political science or related experience is required. Requires broad knowledge of the Credit Union movement on the state and national level, knowledge of credit union operations, command of the legislative process on the state and national level, and detailed knowledge of political activities in the state and the nation. Must have at least five years of involvement in the legislative process and five years of supervisory experience.
Candidates must have a professional knowledge of business processes and well developed interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
