Credit Union Resources, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Cornerstone Credit Union League, has an immediate opening for a Legal Counsel. This position is responsible for directing and managing the legal needs of the organization and its affiliated companies.
Duties encompass, but are not limited to, managing all governance aspects of the organization and providing guidance for corporate compliance for the Executive Leadership and Board Members; advising management of the legal implications of proposed actions and policies and, if necessary, recommending modifications or alternatives and performing research, preparing necessary contracts, correspondence, briefs and opinions; and managing the relationships with outsourced legal review to assist in the League and Resources in product development, negotiations, contract drafting and other transactions with third parties and their attorneys.
This position requires a law degree and a current license to practice law in Texas in addition to maintaining all Continuing Legal Education requirements and a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in business law or similar practice.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in governance, insurance contracts and corporate law. Supervisory and management skills required are also required.
Candidates must have a professional knowledge of business processes and well developed interpersonal, communications, and presentation skills.
