How long have you been in the credit union industry?
15 years

What is your favorite thing about working in the credit union?
My co-workers. I’ve always really enjoyed the people I’ve gotten to work with throughout the years. They constantly teach me new things and offer different perspectives that keep my role interesting and make me want to achieve more.

What are you binge watching right now?
Virgin River on Netflix.

Favorite place you’ve traveled?
Munich, Germany!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?
Time travel. Time is so fleeting. My kids are growing up so fast and I’d just love to go back in time and hear their baby giggles again. Plus I’d like to squish their fat, little cheeks.

How long have you been in the credit union industry?
I’ve been in the credit union movement for eight years. I started when I was 20 years old as a part-time teller at Altra FCU in Tyler, Texas.

What is your favorite thing about working in the credit union?
My favorite thing about working at the credit union is helping people reach their financial goals. When I can make a difference in someone’s life by positioning them to be able to buy that car they want, or their first home, or getting out of debt, it absolutely makes my day! I love it when members come back years later to tell me their success stories.

What is one thing that surprises most people about you?
Some people have said that when they first see me, they think I am serious and intimidating. When they get to know me, they find out I am very friendly and a softy at heart. People also learn of my spontaneous side when they find out I started to draw U.S. states out of a bowl to choose my next vacation destination…and I stick with whatever I draw.

Who is your role model and why?
My role model is a person I consider to be a great leader, mentor, and friend: SVP of Retail Operations & Business Development Francis Santana. I admire her passion, conviction, and integrity not only at work but in her personal life as well. The fact that she juggles so many things flawlessly is admirable. She believes in me even when I don’t believe in myself. I hope to be able to motivate and inspire my team the way she does.

Favorite place you’ve traveled?
People that know me know I keep going back to Colorado. The beautiful scenery and variety of outdoor adventures (hiking, white water rafting, sand sledding, camping, biking) continue to take me back.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Why?

My superpower would be flying! The idea of flying anywhere at any time gives me a sense of freedom.

What is your favorite thing about working in the credit union?

The cooperative spirit. No matter what issue you face you know that there are others like you that may have had this challenge before.
