GECU Celebrates Expansion with Donations to Nonprofits

GECU Breaks Ground on First Odessa Branch

GECU celebrated the groundbreaking of its first Odessa branch July 15, marking the credit union’s continued expansion across West Texas.

The branch is expected to open in mid-2027 and will offer checking and savings accounts, loans, credit cards, drive-up teller lanes, and ATMs.

“For more than 90 years, GECU has focused on delivering the financial products and services people need to achieve their financial goals,” said GECU President/CEO Alex Rascón.

To commemorate the milestone, the GECU Foundation presented a $3,500 donation to each of two organizations: Junior Achievement of the Permian Basin and Permian Warrior Partnership. The organizations support financial education for students and provide resources to veterans, their families, and caregivers.
