Texas Trust Credit Union Marks 90th Anniversary With Regional Recognition

Texas Trust Credit Union is kicking off its 90th anniversary with official proclamations from the mayors of Arlington, Grand Prairie, Athens, and San Angelo, each declaring a Texas Trust Credit Union Day in their communities.

The coordinated recognition highlights the credit union’s growth from a 10-member aircraft employee group in 1936 to a $2 billion institution serving communities across multiple Texas regions. Arlington Mayor Jim Ross praised the credit union’s long-standing local impact, calling Texas Trust “a vital part of the fabric of our city and a true partner in the American Dream.”

To mark the anniversary, Texas Trust is also launching its 90 Random Acts of Kindness initiative, with employees across its markets supporting teacher grants, nonprofits, and other community-focused efforts. “Having Mayor Ross and his fellow leaders across Texas join us in this celebration is an incredible honor,” said Jim Minge, president/CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union. “It reinforces our mission to stay local and give back to the communities that have supported us for 90 years.”

Greater Texas Promotes Lisa Back to Executive Vice President

Greater Texas and Aggieland Credit Union has promoted Lisa Back from chief financial officer to executive vice president.

Since joining the credit union in late 2023, Back has helped strengthen financial strategy, improve net interest margin, reshape card services and payments strategy, and support key growth initiatives. The credit union said her financial leadership was also instrumental in helping return the organization to profitability last year.

“When Lisa came on board, she immediately became a valuable strategic partner to our executive leadership team,” said Howard Baker, president/CEO of Greater Texas and Aggieland Credit Union. “Her leadership has reshaped key parts of our business and strengthened our foundation for future growth.”

Back is a certified public accountant with nearly 40 years of experience in audit and financial leadership. Her career includes leadership roles at Bank of America, CitiCapital, and Velocity Credit Union, and she remains active in the Austin community through volunteer service.

West Community Promotes Jared Cortijo to Branch Manager

West Community Credit Union has promoted Jared Cortijo to branch manager of its Kirkwood, Missouri, branch.

In the role, Cortijo will oversee daily operations, lead team growth and development, and focus on delivering an excellent member experience. “As the manager of Kirkwood, I’m excited to continue the positive momentum we’ve built by leading with genuine connection, both with my team and our members,” Cortijo said.

Regional Branch Manager Nicole Brown said Cortijo has made a strong impact since joining the credit union last year. “His passion for our members, focus on team development, and genuine connection to the community make him the perfect fit to lead our Kirkwood branch,” Brown said.

Cortijo said he looks forward to continuing to build relationships within the Kirkwood community and supporting both members and staff in the branch’s next chapter.
