Soarion Awards $25,000 in Scholarships to Local Students

San Antonio-based Soarion Credit Union recently selected five local high school students as recipients of its 2026 scholarship program. Each student will receive $5,000 to help cover college-related costs, including tuition and fees, dorm expenses, computers, and other supplies.

This year’s scholarship recipients are Allen Carr of Churchill High School, Lauryn Elliott of Marshall Law and Medical Services High School, Zoe Esquivel of Southwest High School, Lillian Flores of Churchill High School, and Emily Gonzalez of NSITE High School.

“Each year Soarion Credit Union is proud to provide resources to local students through our scholarship program and help facilitate access to higher education opportunities,” said Ric Ledezma, president/CEO of Soarion Credit Union. “We look forward to seeing this next generation of leaders soar to their highest potential.”

Soarion awards scholarships annually to students planning to attend an accredited public or private college, university, community college, or technical college. Recipients are selected based on community service, academic performance, leadership, and financial need. Applicants must be a Soarion Credit Union member or the dependent of a member in good standing. The program is administered in partnership with the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation.
