Texas Trust CU Earns National Recognition for Fueling Kindness
Texas Trust Credit Union is earning national recognition for a campaign that put service into action and delivered real help to families in its community. The credit union recently received a Diamond Award from America’s Credit Unions Marketing/PR & Development Council for its Fueling Kindness campaign, highlighting both the creativity and impact of the effort.

More than a marketing campaign, Fueling Kindness was a hands-on demonstration of the credit union philosophy in action. At a Grand Prairie gas station, Texas Trust employees fueled 77 vehicles in just 60 minutes, helping nearly 80 families reduce the burden of commuting costs. The credit union also distributed $3,100 in direct financial support, including gas cards and cash, while dedicating 20 staff hours to community engagement.
The campaign stood out because it paired visibility with meaningful service. In a moment when many families continue to feel pressure from everyday costs, Texas Trust created an event that offered immediate relief and reinforced the role credit unions play as trusted community partners.
“Receiving a Diamond Award for our Fueling Kindness campaign is a proud moment for the entire Texas Trust team,” said Toni Nichols, assistant vice president of external communications and events. “This event was designed to ease the daily burdens of our community, and we’re honored to see that effort recognized.”
The annual competition drew a record 1,481 submissions, with 330 entries earning awards, underscoring the exceptional quality of work submitted by credit unions nationwide. Texas Trust’s recognition places it among the institutions being celebrated not only for strong outreach, but for campaigns that connect purpose with measurable impact.
Fueling Kindness serves as a reminder that even small acts, when carried out with intention, can make a lasting difference. By meeting people where they are and responding to a tangible need, Texas Trust demonstrated how credit unions can turn community care into meaningful action.
