Oklahoma’s Credit Union Partners with Cornerstone Foundation to Open Donor Advised Fund

Thu August 28, 2025

A Cornerstone Foundation Donor Advised Fund offers many of the advantages of a private/public credit union foundation without the initial set-up costs, ongoing excise taxes, and administrative expenses. By partnering with the Cornerstone Foundation, a credit union avoids the continual compliance and reporting requirements, as well as the need for a separate accounting system to track the nonprofit’s financials.

Oklahoma's Credit Union recently partnered with the Foundation to establish a Donor Advised Fund.

“At Oklahoma’s Credit Union, helping Oklahomans is who we are,” said Luann Schmiedel, president/CEO. “We chose Cornerstone Foundation for our donor advised fund because it allows us to give back in meaningful ways. Our goal is to support causes like children’s health and financial education for youth in foster care. We’re excited to partner together to help more Oklahomans thrive today and tomorrow.”
