MOCUA Meets with House Ways and Means Committee Chair

Members of the Missouri Governmental Affairs Subcommittee and the Missouri Credit Union Association recently attended a fundraiser in Rolla, Mo., for U.S. Rep and House Ways and Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (MO-8).

For Scott Shults, CEO of Riverways FCU and chair of the Missouri Governmental Affairs Subcommittee, the event was also a personal connection: Shults and Smith both grew up in Salem, Mo. and have been friends for many years.

The meeting underscored the importance of building and maintaining relationships with lawmakers, both locally and in Washington, D.C. Strong connections help ensure that the credit union perspective is part of policy conversations.
