Cornerstone League members are engaging with America’s Credit Unions’ “Don't Tax My Credit Union” initiative by highlighting their community-focused work. These stories demonstrate the tangible benefits of preserving the credit union tax status.

 

UP Federal Credit Union

UP Federal Credit Union, a CDFI-certified institution, leveraged grants to expand digital services in underserved neighborhoods, preventing a banking desert for low-income members. Read more. 

 

Texas Trust Credit Union

Similarly, Texas Trust Credit Union mobilized over 300 employees to volunteer at Mission Arlington, donating $10,000 to support food pantries and clothing closets. These efforts underscore how tax-exempt status enables credit unions to reinvest in communities rather than shareholders. Read more.

Credit Union of Texas partnered with Spiral to integrate charitable giving into everyday banking, allowing members to round up purchases for community causes. Read more.
