Cornerstone Foundation Grant Helps CU Provide Life-Saving AEDs

A Cornerstone Foundation community development grant is making a critical impact by helping Arsenal Credit Union equip its community with life-saving automated external defibrillators (AEDs). By investing in health and safety, Arsenal CU is ensuring that schools and branch locations are better prepared for cardiac emergencies, reinforcing the credit union movement’s commitment to community well-being.

Why It Matters:
Using funds from a Cornerstone Foundation community development grant, Arsenal Credit Union purchased AEDs for Kennerly Elementary School in Sappington, MO, and two branch locations. AEDs drastically improve survival rates in cardiac emergencies when used within the first five minutes.

The Impact:

• Kennerly Elementary now has an AED near its new gym addition, providing peace of mind for students, staff, and families.
• Arsenal CU’s Arnold and Watson branches are now equipped to respond to medical emergencies on-site.
• The Rock Community Fire Protection District will provide CPR and first-aid training for at least 15% of Arsenal CU employees to ensure rapid response in critical situations.
