On Feb. 12, KState Credit Union in Manhattan, Kan., presented a check for $6,020 to Katie’s Way, a mental health care clinic dedicated to providing personalized care for individuals, including psychotherapy and psychiatry. Katie’s Way emphasizes a team-based approach in a non-institutional environment, aiming to make personal connections.

The funds were raised during KState’s annual employee jeans donation charity program, which allows employees to wear jeans at work throughout the year in exchange for a $5 charitable donation per day. Employees can donate in a lump sum or have the money deducted from their payroll. Together, employees select a local organization to receive the proceeds.

“I am always amazed at the employee participation in the program each year,” said KState Credit Union President/CEO LaRae Kraemer. “Our team loves to wear jeans. This charitable program has raised a lot of money over the years, mostly because our employees truly enjoy donating to a cause and helping in our community.”

“We are so honored to be selected as this year’s recipient of the donations from the employee jeans program,” said Katie’s Way Facility Director Jack Hess. “We want to thank KState Credit Union and their team for supporting our community and behavioral health services. These funds will directly benefit people who are experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other struggles that many in our community continue to endure every day. Thanks to KState Credit Union, we can continue to assist them in making every day that much better, thank you.”
