FivePoint Credit Union Announces Four Promotions

FivePoint Credit Union President/CEO Erik M. Shaw has announced the promotion of four employees: Karen Blum, Toni Brown, Helen Puckett, and Marla Rucker.

Karen Blum

Karen Blum has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing. She has been employed with 5Point since 2014 and has over 40 years of experience in marketing, broadcast, and advertising and with banks and credit unions to strategically research, develop, and place marketing campaigns. Blum’s previous roles at 5Point include assistant vice president of marketing and vice president of marketing. 

 

 FivePoint CU, Toni Brown, VP Lending

Toni Brown

Toni Brown has been promoted to vice president of lending. She has been employed with 5Point since 2019 and has previously held the progressive roles of assistant vice president of lending, member solutions manager, member solutions assistant manager, and collector. Brown has approximately 14 years of experience working in the financial industry.

 

FivePoint, Helen Puckett, SVP Acct

Helen Puckett

Helen Puckett has been promoted to senior vice president of accounting. She has been employed with 5Point since 2019 and has previously held the progressive roles of vice president of accounting, assistant vice president of accounting, and senior accountant. Puckett is attending Southwest Credit Union Management School in the Class of 2026. She graduated in 2001 from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. She also earned her master’s in accounting from the University of Phoenix in 2004. Prior to joining 5Point, Helen had over 15 years of accounting experience in the oil and gas industry.

Marla Rucker

Marla Rucker has been promoted to senior vice president of information technology. She has been employed with 5Point since 1985. Throughout her 40-year career with the credit union, Rucker has contributed significantly to the growth and development of accounting, operations, and information technology. Over the past 25 years, she gained extensive experience in the IT department, serving as vice president of IT for the 17 years prior to this promotion.

 

 

Travis Perez Named TDECU Market President for Southeast Texas

Travis Perez, Market President for TDECU in SE Texas

Travis Perez has been named market president for the Southeast Texas region of TDECU, encompassing Brazoria, Galveston, and Southeast Harris counties. Perez is a trusted member of the Brazoria County community and committed to enhancing the exceptional service that our most loyal members have come to trust.

“My passion lies in serving others—whether it’s helping members prosper or creating opportunities to give back to the community,” said Perez. “I believe true leadership is about having a servant mindset, putting people first, and working together to build a brighter future for everyone we serve.”

Perez brings a wealth of knowledge, expertise, and a deep commitment to member service. Since joining TDECU in February 2023 as a regional director, he has been instrumental in driving member-focused initiatives, improving operational efficiencies, and cultivating a culture of collaboration and empowerment. With nearly 15 years of leadership experience, Perez’s approach is rooted in creating meaningful connections and delivering exceptional service.

“Building strong connections with the community is essential to this role,” said Josh Brian, TDECU chief growth officer. “Travis’ deep experience in helping Texans achieve their dreams positions him perfectly to represent TDECU in the areas many of our longest-standing members call home.”

 

Truity CU Hires Two New Employees for its Olathe Branch

Truity Credit Union has announced two new hires for its branch in the Shops of Sunnybrooke, 11172 Lone Elm Road in Olathe, Kansas. This branch opened in December 2023 as part of Truity’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the region.

 

David Hunt

David Hunt, Truity Credit Union

David Hunt has been named the senior business development officer. He brings more than two decades of expertise in financial services and has filled multiple roles, including in business development, client relationship management, and strategic planning.

Having spent much of his career in the Kansas City metro area and Johnson County, Hunt’s deep understanding of the local business environment and his strong connections within the community make him a great addition to Truity.

"Joining Truity Credit Union is a great opportunity to combine my passion for relationship-building with a commitment to serving our community,” said Hunt. 

 

Garrett Carnes

Garrett Carnes, Truity CU

Garrett Carnes has been named branch manager. He has several years of experience in the financial industry and in public service. He is active in the Kansas City and Olathe communities. He looks forward to fostering great relationships with members and demonstrating his commitment to Truity’s Olathe team.

“I am passionate about contributing to the growth of the Kansas City market and having a positive impact on our community alongside my talented colleagues,” said Carnes.
