Arlington, Texas-based Texas Trust Gives Foundation donated $5,000 to television station WFAA’s Santa’s Helpers toy drive.
In its 55th year serving Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton counties, Santa’s Helpers collects new toys and bicycles for children up to age 18 to ensure everyone has something new for Christmas.
The financial gift from Texas Trust will help purchase needed toys at wholesale. The toys will be dispersed throughout the DFW metroplex via more than a dozen local charities and community support organizations.
“Santa's Helpers makes sure more than 50,000 children across North Texas can share in the holiday cheer,” said Washima Huq, executive director of the Texas Trust Gives Foundation. “We hope our gift makes Christmas brighter for the children who receive presents from this wonderful program.”

In 2024, the Young Professionals at Corpus Christi, Texas-based CoastLife Credit Union raised funds to donate 200 Blessing Bags to the Mother Teresa Shelter. This donation provides vital hygiene and clothing essentials to individuals staying at the shelter during the holiday season.
The YP Blessing Bags, an initiative started in 2021, are made possible by funds raised through the annual CoastLife Credit Union Young Professional's Cornhole Tournament in September 2024. The event attracted over 40 teams and raised $3,785.
In November, CoastLife Credit Union Young Professionals came together to assemble the 200 bags, which were then delivered to the Mother Teresa Shelter the morning of Thanksgiving. On-site at the shelter, CoastLife Credit Union employees distributed the Blessing Bags to individuals spending the holidays at the shelter to ensure much-needed support.
"Continuing our annual tradition of providing Blessing Bags to the Mother Teresa Shelter is a deeply meaningful initiative for our Young Professionals," said Victoria Ortiz, secretary of the Young Professionals Board of Directors at CoastLife Credit Union. "This year has been our most successful fundraising effort yet, and we are thrilled to see this initiative grow stronger with each passing year.
