Last week, Missouri credit union leaders met with U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) in his 5th Congressional District office. Cleaver is ranking member of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. Missouri Credit Union Association arranged the meet-up, and the following credit unions joined in:
This meeting was an important follow-up as credit unions recently raised concerns regarding the American Housing and Economic Mobility Act. While the controversial language was removed from the bill, credit unions must remain vigilant.

said Ray Bozarth, executive director of the Missouri Credit Union Association. “Congressman Cleaver remains committed in his belief that credit unions foster financial inclusion and provide vital services for community empowerment.”
First Service Credit Union hosted Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-District 38) in Houston while he was in his home district during the August recess. The congressman discussed:
Hunt discussed his military background and how important it was for him to serve our country through joining the military. When he left the service, he wanted to extend his service to the country, which is why he ran for Congress. He is a supporter of credit unions and understands how we serve our communities to make them better.
