Last week, the Central Texas Chapter of Credit Unions donated $19,161 to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Chapter President JoBetsy Tyler reported that her chapter revived its annual golf tournament in September, which was a great success despite the Texas heat. Many vendors and credit unions participated at different sponsor levels and as hole sponsors, which allowed the chapter to raise significant funds for CMN.
“We applied for and received the miracle match funds from CO-OP, which allowed us to make an even more impactful gift to CMN,” said Tyler, who is also president/CEO of First Central Credit Union in Waco. “Next year, our chapter plans to continue our great work with even more opportunities to give back to our communities.”
The check presentation was made during the chapter’s Christmas party on Dec. 8 at the Dead Fish Grill in Belton, Texas. Attendees at the party also enjoyed food and a white elephant gift exchange.
