The Amarillo Chapter of Credit Unions hosted a Festival of Gifts on Nov. 9 at House Divided, drawing 70 attendees and raising $1,400 for Cornerstone Foundation.
“The Foundation has hosted the Festival of Trees for the past several years,” said Marilyn Welborn, SCMS, SVP of administration at ACFCU in Amarillo. “We haven’t been able to attend because we are a considerable distance from the Dallas area, so we thought this would be a great opportunity to give back to the foundation in a fun way.”
Attendees purchased $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes such as gift baskets and gift cards that were donated for the event by credit unions and vendors.
“We felt that this event would be a great way to share information about all of the great things the Cornerstone Foundation does and raise money so they can keep doing what they do best,” said Welborn. “It was a fun event that served as a holiday party and fundraiser all in one. Participants were able to network with their credit union peers, meet vendors that support our chapter, and enter to win awesome prizes. Our hope is that we can grow this event and raise even more money next year.”
