Eber Diaz de Leon and his family, from Coweta, Okla., are the big winners of Tinker Federal Credit Union’s 2022 Storm Shelter Loan Payoff promotion.

Diaz de Leon’s loan was selected at random from among other TFCU active storm shelter loans in good standing, and his balance of $3,794 was paid in full.

After a tornado touched down near their home last year, Diaz de Leon and his wife Maria purchased a storm shelter. The company they used recommended Tinker for financing, citing the credit union’s low rates.

When he learned of the loan payoff, he said, “I didn’t believe it. I wanted to make sure it was true.” The Diaz de Leons expressed appreciation to TFCU for the loan payoff, which means their hard-earned money can now go to other family and living expenses.

TFCU’s annual Storm Shelter Loan Payoff is just one way the not-for-profit credit union gives back to members all year long. TFCU is the largest credit union in Oklahoma, with more than $5.8 billion in assets and more than 435,000 members.
