On Oct. 8, Greater Texas Credit Union held a grand opening celebration for its new free-standing, full-service branch at 242 N. Guadalupe Street in downtown San Marcos.
Greater Texas CU President/CEO Howard Baker and COO Jason Goodman shared a few words to kick off the celebration, and Board Chairman Wesley Yeager spoke about the exciting growth happening in San Marcos.
In honor of previous president/CEO Thomas Dee Seargeant and his 40 years of service to the members of Greater Texas FCU, the credit union, along with matching funds from the McCoy Foundation, presented an endowed scholarship of $50,000 in Seargeant’s name to Kent Hamilton. Hamilton is executive director of the McCoy College of Business Foundation and assistant dean of the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University.
Greater Texas CU has been serving Texans since 1952 and San Marcos since 2012 when the credit union merged St. John’s Federal Credit Union into its membership. The new San Marcos branch, with its Texas State Bobcat-inspired theme, offers the newest addition to the service delivery network in Hays County. As the credit union expands its footprint, market share, and service to members, it also elevates the credit union’s status as a pillar in the community.
Greater Texas CU helps businesses, students, members, and their families achieve financial success. Also known as Aggieland Credit Union in the Brazos Valley, the credit union has 19 locations across the state and is a member of the nationwide CO-OP Shared Branch network.
