Tinker Federal Credit Union has announced that Dave Willis is its new president and CEO, effective Sept. 1, 2021. Willis assumes the helm after Mike Kloiber retired in August.

“[Willis] and I have worked hand in hand for almost 13 years,” said Kloiber, “and I know he is prepared to continue our successes into the future.”

Willis began at TFCU as executive vice president/chief operations officer in October 2008. Before accepting the position at TFCU and moving to Oklahoma, Willis was with Kitsap Credit Union in Bremerton, Wash., since February 1984, where he held positions of increasing responsibility, including senior vice president/chief operations officer.“The TFCU board is very pleased to have someone with Dave’s experience, skills, and talents taking over leadership of the credit union,” said Al Rich, chair of the TFCU board of directors. “We look forward to many years working together to provide even better service to our members.”

Willis earned his bachelor’s in business management at the University of Washington and his master’s in business administration at the University of Central Oklahoma. He served for more than 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserves, where he served as a landing support specialist with the 4th Landing Support Battalion.

Willis participates in dozens of community events every year, including chamber of commerce activities, teacher/community partner appreciation events, United Way, and events at Tinker Air Force Base. He serves as chair of the Cornerstone Foundation board and is on the National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions PAC Committee and Credit Union National Association Consumer Financial Protection Sub-Committee. He also volunteers his personal time at non-profit organizations. In 2013, Willis was awarded the Credit Union Association of Oklahoma “Professional of the Year.”

When asked about his new position, Willis said, “It’s an honor to serve TFCU members as the next president and CEO. I’m excited to build upon TFCU’s solid values and to work each day to have a positive impact on our members’ lives.”

TFCU is the largest credit union in Oklahoma, with assets of more than $5.5 billion and 430,000 members.
