The election for the vacancy in Asset Category 4 on the League Board has concluded, and Shawn Bailey, CEO of AMOCO Federal Credit Union, was elected to fill the vacancy, which was created when Mike Kloiber resigned pending his retirement in August.

Bailey’s journey with credit unions began more than 20 years ago, starting with Fort Bliss in El Paso and Credit Union of Texas, followed by Texas Credit Union League (now Cornerstone League).

The Southwest CUNA Management School graduate was named president and CEO of AMOCO in 2004. His tenacity and leadership led his team to success, growing the credit union from one branch to 10 branches, 46,225 members to 83,348 members, and $341 million in assets to $911 million. Under his leadership, AMOCO was recognized by the Houston Chronicle as one of the “Top 100 Companies” to work for in the Houston area.

Bailey serves on multiple boards, spends his spare time volunteering, and sponsors numerous causes, exemplifying the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”

“Not only is Shawn a tour de force within the credit union industry, but he is also well-known in the community,” said Cornerstone League President/CEO Caroline Willard. “His passion for philanthropy and industry experience will be a tremendous asset to Cornerstone League, and we look forward to his leadership on our board of directors.”

Willard added, “We are immensely grateful to Mike Kloiber for his leadership with both the Oklahoma Credit Union Association and Cornerstone League. He will be a hard act to follow!”
