In other Cornerstone Foundation news, this week we announced that the Foundation has partnered with Preferred Financial Capability Service Provider Plinqit to help Cornerstone member credit unions offer their members an easy way to save. Read how the mobile platform will enable member credit unions to create higher user engagement rates and cross-selling opportunities.

We have a lot to announce on behalf of our members this week. During a surprise ceremony at Texas Trust Credit Union’s headquarters in Arlington, Mayor Jeff Williams issued a proclamation to celebrate and recognize CEO Jim Minge’s contributions by declaring May 3, 2021, as Jim Minge Recognition Day. Since joining Texas Trust Credit Union in 2011, Minge has demonstrated servant leadership as he created a compassionate and caring financial institution dedicated to building brighter financial futures and being a positive community steward.

Space City Credit Union in Houston, Texas, has named Jennifer Tran as its new vice president of accounting. Cornerstone Resources conducted the executive search for the $106 million-asset credit union. Additionally, Education First Federal Credit Union has announced the appointment of Urjit Patel as chief operations officer. Learn more about Tran and Patel in the Leaguer.

Congratulations to First Class American Federal Credit Union, which merged into United Texas Credit Union. The merger is expected to be completed in November 2021, which will result in additional products and services for First Class American FCU’s 6,000 members.
