Honoring Those Who Have Served the Credit Union Movement

Posted: Apr 1, 2021 | Author: Cornerstone League
Annual Meeting  Awards & Recognition  CDFI  IMPACT Virtual

A large portion of this week’s issue of the Leaguer is dedicated to honoring those who have served the credit union movement with grit and an unfailing dedication to helping people. With Cornerstone CFO/CAO/EVP Karen Hart’s retirement less than two weeks away, we honor the “Heart of Cornerstone” and her many achievements over the course of her 41 years with us. In this week’s issue, she discusses her leadership philosophy and her love for the credit union movement…as well as her love for motorcycles.

IMPACT Virtual is only a week away. Every year at our annual meeting (now known as IMPACT Virtual), we honor credit union professionals who have made lasting impressions on the industry with awards such as Hall of Fame, Professional of the Year, and Small Credit Union Achiever. This year we have two Hall of Fame winners—Ayn Talley and Brent Taylor—whose contributions to the movement we feature in this week’s issue of the Leaguer. We also highlight Jennifer Grinder, our Professional of the Year winner, as well as Kay Rankin-Swan, our Small Credit Union Achiever of the Year.

If you would like to offer well wishes to any of the above-mentioned individuals at IMPACT Virtual, please contact Brandon Walker at bwalker@cornerstoneleague.coop.

April 3 is the deadline to apply for streamlined Certified Development Financial Institution qualification. The streamlined process is designed to expand access in low-income and financially underserved communities and individuals. Do not miss out on this opportunity to enhance your credit union’s capacity to better serve members through a variety of awards and programs. See the Leaguer story for more details.

Additionally, Austin, Texas-based A+ Federal Credit Union announces two executive-level changes. Tricia Lewis has been promoted to senior vice president of human resources and David Cic will be joining the credit union as chief financial officer.

Read these stories and more in this week’s issue of the Leaguer. I wish you health and productivity as we close out the week.
