Awards & Recognition  Professional of the Year Award
Jennifer Grinder

The Cornerstone League has named Jennifer Grinder, chief retail officer of Resource One Credit Union of Dallas, Texas, as 2021 Professional of the Year.

Grinder has worked in the credit union industry for more than 12 years and has served in multiple roles at Resource One Credit Union. She currently is chief retail officer of the 67,000-member credit union with more than $500 million in member deposits and locations in the greater Dallas area and in Houston. She has been a credit union member since the age of 9.

Grinder is a fierce advocate for credit unions, employees, and members, focusing on the personal level of what leaders in the industry do and never forgetting to keep members at the center of all decisions. She also is a strong believer in professional and personal development and encourages her team members to continue growing in all the areas they love.

Grinder also has served as Resource One’s Advocacy Committee management liaison for the executive team and works closely with the credit union industry. She is president of the Dallas Chapter of Credit Unions and has helped to create a variety of innovative events to grow participation in the chapter.

In addition, Grinder is a committee member for the Cornerstone Foundation and an advocacy committee member for the Cornerstone League. She also supports the Cornerstone Foundation and PAC.

Under Grinder’s leadership, Resource One has met or exceeded its PAC goal for the past few years. Grinder is currently a student of the Southwestern Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Management School. She also participates in the Global Women’s Leadership Network Sister Society meetings. Grinder is involved with the Governmental Affairs Conference at the national level, and she attends the Texas GAC to help promote the credit union movement.

Whether it is supporting the industry or the community, Grinder leads by example. She is often the first to step up and participate in events and volunteer activities.

She also has earned several industry accreditations including the National Credit Union Foundation Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE), CUNA Financial Counseling Certification Program (FiCEP), and the CUNA Credit Union Certified Marketing Executive (CUCME).

Grinder has a passion for financial literacy in the communities the credit union serves and has supported implementing reality fairs, life simulations, a credit union podcast, virtual educational webinars, explainer videos, and many more financial education programs for members and others in the community. She oversaw the teams that helped the credit union place first regionally and second  nationally in the CUNA Desjardins Award competition for Youth Financial Literacy.

For all of these contributions and achievements, Cornerstone recognizes Jennifer Grinder as our 2021 Professional of the Year. Grinder will be honored at Cornerstone League’s upcoming annual meeting, IMPACT Virtual, at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 9. Click here to learn more about IMPACT Virtual.
