The TFCU High School Spirit Debit Card Program has donated approximately $40,000 to 38 local high schools in the nine school districts in the El Paso area known as Region 19. The donations will help support high school programs, clubs, teams, and student organizations once schools resume in-person instruction.

The TFCU High School Spirit Debit Card allows account holders to customize their cards with the logo of their local high school. For every qualified purchase made on these cards, TFCU donates $0.05 to each account holder’s school of choice. In addition, for the first three years, TFCU will match this donation for each school adding additional funds to support all local high schools. These donations will benefit high school programs, clubs, teams, and student organizations.

As the pandemic continues to impact schools across the country, booster clubs and other parent-teacher organizations have had to pause their fundraising efforts. The program helps alleviate the fundraising stress from parent-led school organizations.

“The TFCU High School Spirit Debit Card is a great way for anyone in the community to actively give back and help raise funds for the school of their choice without having to directly pay out-of-pocket or make any changes to their budgets,” said Max Villaronga, TFCU president and CEO. “We are proud to support our community in this regard.”
