Carmela McDermott is presented with a special plaque, commemorating her 25 years of service.

McDermott joined the organization in 1994 and has managed a staff of search professionals who work with all levels of employees at credit unions throughout the U.S. In this role, she has placed numerous CEOs, helping credit unions identify characteristics and experience, designing interview questions, finding the best candidates, and facilitating negotiations.

“Carmela lives and practices our credit union industry philosophy of ‘people helping people’ every single day,” said Barb Lowman, executive vice president and chief growth officer, Cornerstone Credit Union League/Credit Union Resources, Inc. “The depth and breadth of her relationships inspire me. She has truly changed the lives of many credit union professionals and helped them advance in their career paths while developing amazing friendships and loyal clients along the way.”

Lowman added, “Thank you for inspiring those around you and for being committed to leaving the Cornerstone region just a little better than it was when you arrived.”

During a celebration of her 25 years of service, employees thanked McDermott for her heart and her smile and described her as being a servant leader.

“I’ve had a great career, have valued every moment, and had the best territory,” said McDermott.

During retirement, she plans to travel, hiking mountains and park trails. She also plans to spend more time getting coffee with her neighbors.
